Jonty Toosey
joined Bikini Films in June 2006 and has wasted no time getting down
to business. He has most recently won a gold at the Promax Awards
for his film "MTV Overdrive" and his recently-completed piece the
‘Inner Tosser’ has featured in several tabloid and broadsheet
newspapers nationally as well as garnering Pick Of The Week in
Campaign. He has just finished a project for Trident that gives us
an insight into the crazy world of chewing gum and with a project
for PS3 in the later stages of post-production, Jonty looks to be
keeping up the good work.
Thus he
continues his busy work-rate into 2007, after 2006 saw him directing
a spot for Surf through BBH, as well as a Park Asterix campaign for
Brune through Bandits in Paris.
He has previously
shot sponsorship campaigns for Piaggio, Hula Hoops, Polaroid and
Skittles, as well as special projects for Nickelodeon, National
Geographic, MTV, Bravo and the BBC, all of which feature Toosey’s unique
brand of quirky humour and edgy visuals.

He loves to “make people laugh
out loud” and always strives to imbue his stories with a playful sense
“of life’s absurdities”. His first film (made at age 15) was about a
cannibalistic cooking program and he was brought up in Belgium, which
probably makes him Belgian.
Toosey studied
Politics at Bristol UWE, continuing to experiment with film. Eventually
VH1 noticed his experimental style in 1999 and commissioned a series of
idents for the channel. In 2002 he shot his first commercial campaign
for GBK Munich and has since worked in London for WCRS, Saatchi &
Saatchi, St Luke’s, Devilfish and BBH. |
