Tim Hamilton :   reel/ info

Fast becoming a comedic force to be reckoned with, Tim’s most recent work with Bikini Films is for Grazia Magazine (shot through Fallon London) and displays his penchant for finding quirky humour in the midst of seemingly everyday situations.

Tim has a rare ability to pick out the foibles and eccentricities of everyday life that each of us can (sometimes embarrassingly) recognise in ourselves and he is able to present them economically and succinctly, often forcing us to laugh at ourselves as much as at the characters on screen. His commercials work includes very successful spots for Zeller’s (‘Baby Shower’), a campaign for Funai televisions and, more recently, the blunt honesty of A&P’s ‘Honest Fish Guy’, which recalls the humour of ‘Truth In Advertising’. He has also recently directed a piece for Bud Light, ‘The Gathering’ that is a brilliant pastiche on Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘The Birds’ that manages to be both creepy and hilarious.

International acclaim sought him out with the short film ‘Truth in Advertising’, which he co-wrote and directed. His razor sharp, comedic tweak of the advertising world caused a sensation following its single screening at the annual Marketing Awards in Toronto. The film went on to be screened in official competition at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. Tim has written and directed other award-winning short films and also directed the first six episodes of actor Steve Martin's post-modern sketch comedy show, "The Downer Channel".

Tim was previously an editor, but sought a new challenge and turned his keenly satirical eye on directing, receiving instant recognition with his music videos for acts such as The Barenaked Ladies, Crash Test Dummies, The Rheostatics and Ron Sexsmith.
