Phil Barnes extended his position at Bikini Films to Head Of Production in 2005, proving himself more than worthy of the job in his first two years with the company as Head of Music Videos (a role he maintains in tandem with HoP). Phil joined the Bikini team full-time in 2003 after several successful collaborations with the company as a freelance music video producer. Barnes has been carefully building the Bikini Music Video Roster, signing directors such as Max and Dania, David Mould and Phil Griffin, as well as taking on and developing new talents such as Mark Wordsworth and Tim Mattia. Over the years, Phil has worked with many directors and has produced/executive-produced some of the most memorable and innovative videos of recent times, including Radiohead’s ‘No Surprises’ and Alanis Morrisette’s ‘Head Over Feet, as well as videos for Oasis, Prince, The Beautiful South, The Corrs and many others.

At Bikini Films, Phil contributes a mind that is both extremely creative and highly technical, helping the company remain at the forefront of each technological advance of the past few years. He not only has two decades’ worth of experience in production behind him, as both a Freelance Producer and Managing Director/Owner of his own production company (Shooting Stars Productions), but also a wealth of life experience; he traveled the world, recording and touring as a professional musician between 1979 and 1985, having begun his career in music as a classical-record buyer for HMV in 1978. |
